§ 277.221. Board established.

    There shall be a Westchester County Airport Advisory Board consisting of 11 members, to include:

    a.

    Eight members who shall be residents of the county to be appointed by the County Executive subject to confirmation by the County Board. Five of these members shall also be residents of the areas which are proximate to the Westchester County Airport: one each from the Town of North Castle, the Town of Rye, the Town of Harrison, the Town of Mount Pleasant and the Town of New Castle;

    b.

    One member who shall be a member of the County Board to be appointed by the Chairman of the County Board; and

    c.

    Ex officio: The Commissioner of Public Works and Transportation and the Commissioner of Planning.

    2.

    The members of the Westchester County Airport Advisory Board shall, at the first meeting of each year or when a vacancy exists, elect a Chairperson.

    3.

    The term of office of those members appointed by the County Executive shall be three years; except that of the members first appointed to such board, two shall be appointed for a term of one year, two for a term of two years and two for a term of three years. Upon the expiration of the term of office of any member, his or her successor shall be appointed to membership in such board for a term of three years. The term of office of the member who is a member of the County Board shall be two years unless prior to the expiration of such term he or she shall cease to be a member of such County Board. Any vacancy occurring on the board prior to the expiration of a term in the same manner in which the original appointment was made. []

    The members of the board shall receive no compensation for services but shall be entitled to reimbursement for their reasonable and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties within any appropriation made for such purpose.
