§ 273.281. Employment of inmates.

    Subject to the provisions of the Correction Law, the commissioner shall have the right to employ any and all persons committed to the county penitentiary at such labor in and at such penitentiary or upon the property of the county as to him shall seem proper, subject to such rules and regulations governing the employment and discipline of inmates of the county penitentiary, as may be adopted by the County Board.

    2.

    Inmates of the county jail shall be employed at such labor as may be prescribed by the Correction Law or other applicable statute.

    3.

    Inmates of other institutions placed under the charge and management of the Department of Correction may be employed as provided by law, or pursuant to rules and regulations adopted by the County Board.
