§ 199.11. Submission and adoption.

  • The foregoing alternative form of county government shall not become operative in the county, unless and until adopted by receiving a majority of the total votes cast therein the county, every city containing more than 25 percentum of the population of the county according to the last preceding federal census, and that part of the county, if any, outside of such cities. The question on the adoption of such alternative form of county government shall be as follows: "Shall the alternative form of government for the County of Westchester provided by Chapter _____ (insert chapter number of this act) of the laws of 1937 be adopted and become operative in such county?" Electors residing in such county who then are qualified to vote therein for members of assembly shall be qualified to vote on such question in the election districts in which they severally reside.
